I ran for about 8 months before realized it really mattered. I had always just bought the shoes that looked good or were on sale at the sporting goods store. Runners PLEASE go to a place that will fit you with the correct shoes. Its really not that much more expensive and it makes all the difference in the world. I immediately went from having to stop at 3 miles because my legs hurt, to 5 miles with the right shoes. Now I run much longer but never would be able to with wrong shoes.Tracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16645159685179218043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21601772.post-81947739455116865752008-11-14T07:48:00.000-05:002008-11-14T07:48:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Tracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16645159685179218043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21601772.post-44890660914588533682008-11-13T20:54:00.000-05:002008-11-13T20:54:00.000-05:00Thanks Nat, I am doing my first Duathalon this wee...Thanks Nat, I am doing my first Duathalon this weekend and I was reading carefully, except the sports bra stuff :)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355171909250890249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21601772.post-75996142738169909062008-11-12T17:37:00.000-05:002008-11-12T17:37:00.000-05:00Very helpful. course, i know all this alreayd, bec...Very helpful. course, i know all this alreayd, because i am one of the people who asks you this stuff, but now i have handy links and all that. I use the older shoes for trail runs, shorter runs or runs on the treadmill or for runs in crappy weather. I like to show up marathon day with less than 100 miles on my shoe.Nathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08250132017455417022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21601772.post-89469025318124953642008-11-11T17:12:00.000-05:002008-11-11T17:12:00.000-05:00Big Peach in Brookhaven is awesome!!xoxo StickBig Peach in Brookhaven is awesome!!

xoxo
StickJenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11241317241650959669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21601772.post-74381556945856364102008-11-11T15:54:00.000-05:002008-11-11T15:54:00.000-05:00Natalie - thank you so much for all your tips - I ...Natalie - thank you so much for all your tips - I will add that Russell Athletic - who owns Moving Comfort - makes great bras as well - for big and small boobies. I also am cheap and wear mostly Target gear, but for the long runs, you do have to step it up and invest in some quality apparel. Also, I like your tips about etiquette and thanking the volunteers in a race...I notice when I pass the volunteers who are marking the course and cheering for the runners, I am usually the only one who says thank you...Very frustrating, because if it weren't for them, there probably wouldn't be a race...And my pet peeve is walkers who decide to do a half marathon and then stop short in the middle of the course on mile 2! Uhhh! Oh - and can you tell me about how many miles you get out of a shoe? I buy the high-end asics, sometimes adidas (like you, I try something new each time, but typically stick to the same) and they tell me 300-400 miles, but I think I am a big girl and even though I put in new insoles every 2-3 weeks, I really should be getting a new shoe every 250-300 miles...Your advice, please????Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21601772.post-24488457018816279392008-11-11T15:36:00.000-05:002008-11-11T15:36:00.000-05:00Sorry boys.
