I Am Skirt

See me run. Run Skirt Run.Normally, I am short.

I like short--I have short in red, black and pink-- but I really like skirts too.

I aspire to be one of those ladies who are Tennis. Not because of any real desire to wield a racket and smack a ball.
But for skirt.
I want cute skirt.
I already have visor but skirt, oh my, skirt how I have long coveted thee.

And happy was I to learn that Nike made a skirt. Apparently so were a lot of other women as Nike has been sold out of it in my size since I first learned of it earlier this summer. So in my search for the Adventure skirt I hit upon other running skirts.
I bought one from Skirt Sports.
It is the marathon girl. I bought the "Latte."
Why?
Well, not for a love of coffee but because I liked the silver and pink. More importantly though it was on sale--so it was cheaper than other skirts. Marathon Girl does seem really short but it actually has more material and is longer than short, so it should be fine.

I ran in skirt today at the gym. Skirt and I performed up to par. Since this all pertains to running I'll go ahead and post a mid week update:
Sunday: rest
Monday: 11 miles at 8:45 pace.
Tuesday: 9 miles at 7:55 pace. Garmin and I raced. I beat him by almost 5 minutes.
Wednesday: 18 miles at a 8:57 pace.
Thursday: 4 miles in 30 minutes and 30 seconds. Some arm weights. Felt pretty good.
I am sure tomorrow all this will catch up with me.

So I am skirt.

And lest the men readers are feeling a bit left out here is something for you:Utilikilts

And yes, Carmella took the pictures.

  2. Howdy! Had to redo my previous post as it sounded like Mel Gibson on holiday. Your skirt looks cute, from the side the skirt looks like a regular running short, maybe due to the racing stripe, but it's obvious from the front and rear view that you're wearing a skirt. Maybe I should wear a skirt too? Does it come in satin red? Your running week looks strong and FAST! Happy trails, Bruce

  3. Inquiring minds want to know what you're wearing under that thing?

  4. Good find on the Utilikilts.

Does the skirt have an attached liner inside? If so, it sounds marvelous. I've found that tennis skirts are more comfy if they are shorter, so this is probably a good length.

    Good running this week.

  5. Skirt has sewn i/attached undies--they call them "spankies." Some running skirts have compression shorts.
Bruce, you should definitely wear skirt for marathon--it is Vegas afterall. Haven't seen red but there is a sight out there that has instructions on how to make your own running kilt so you could try that.

  6. Its great to hear that your running skirt amuses you as much as the one I have amuses me. I thought maybe I was the only one who ran along thinking "I'm running in a skirt. Yes, it's a skirt. And you run in it!" Thanks for sharing :)
