I am at BBQ at sister's so full report later. But . . . 3:38:18 finish so no pr.
Honestly I am not surprised considering how my training went this winter. Not to mention this course was so freaking hard. I got a hip cramp (new one for me) that stopped me cold in the 11th mile. Considered quitting but decided to at least run to the half and then decide. I really thought this would be my first ever DNF for any race. Then I had to stop to pee at 16 but it was worth it because I felt so much better. And then at the finish--not kidding--to cross the finish line I had to shove half marathoners out of my way. So, yeah, I am happy with 3:38. Oh and the weather was perfect. Hey and it was 6 minutes faster than last year's time, so that is something . . .
Okay, getting in trouble and NAT needs a beer. . . Congrats to all that ran today. I know there were a lot of PR's!!!!
good job, Nat!!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how you would do on a totally flat course?
Your 3:38:18 finish is very impressive considering the trials and tribuations of hip cramps and having to pee, although you were close to a DNF you still beat your last year's time by six minutes...I would be THRILLED!!! You're as mentally tough as well as physically strong.
ReplyDeleteGood job Nat. I agree about finding a flat course, think about Huntsville AL.
ReplyDeleteNow go find a beer :)
I got to watch your little circle hit the finish on the online map this morning. Very exciting! And, I would say finishing in the top 13% is impressive, especially to the 1850 people BEHIND you! Congrats! I always knew you were freakishly strong...
ReplyDeleteGreat job Ms Natalie on your persistance and a fine finishing time!

Can't wait to hear the full report!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the fantastic time:)
Great job Nat! You continue to inspire me to do better. Btw this is Preete - your reader from the Expo - it was very cool meeting you in person :-) My finish unfortunately was not great at ING. My friend bust her knee and the friend in me took over the runner in me and I choose to hobble to the finish line with her. Oh well - maybe next year. Congrats on your great finish!
ReplyDeleteLala and "mean kitty"! she is just soooo great- for a dog that is! Lala
